European project will work on the development of low-cost wireless sensor networks for forest fire monitoring and early warning
Funded by the Program Interreg Sudoe of the European Union, it brings together institutions and companies from Spain, Portugal, France and the Principality of Andorra, with the collaboration of the Institute of Microelectronics of Barcelona. They will work on the development of devices that measure meteorological and environmental parameters relevant to fire risk assessment by municipalities and local communities in high fire risk areas.
IMB-CNM contribution to the Workshop on Proton-Therapy in Valencia
The “Workshop on Technologies & Applied Research at the Future Valencian Proton-Therapy Facility” took place at the end of February in Valencia. It brought together the main agents and research groups involved in proton therapy research in Spain and Europe. Consuelo Guardiola, researcher at IMB-CNM, was a member of the Organizing Committee leading the contribution of the institute to the sessions.

The International Day of Women and Girls in Science vindicates the role of women in the history of science to promote the participation of more girls and women in the science of the future. The IMB-CNM joins the objectives with talks by female researchers in schools, the organization of a projection and the promotion of referents in social networks and other channels.

The newly established collaboration pursues developments in the field of solid-state radiation detectors. The initiative brings together over 130 institutes worldwide and comprises 900 physicists.
